Beginner’s Guide: How to Manage & Grow Your Social Media!
I know, I know, I know – I usually post about baking tips, tricks, and recipes. But why not expand into something that’s still related? After all, I run a home bakery AND I have social media for that bakery!
cake decorating for beginners – my social media niche
Speaking of baking tips – check out this post for beginners; where I share the best tools to start your cake-decorating journey!
social media and small businesses
Having a social media content calendar can definitely help when you’re trying to grow your online presence. When you’re self-employed and have a million things to do and keep track of, having a planner and getting yourself organized can definitely help relieve some of that stress!
We all know that all social media platforms have an algorithm. And there’s some kind of planning that goes into posting pictures/videos/reels/tik toks on the right day, at the right time of day, multiple times a day, etc etc!
If you’re on social media for your business, social media marketing is key to gaining more followers. And more followers = more potential clients = MORE PROFIT!
SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT PLANNERS
Being the type A, organization queen that I am – I’ve created a set of social media content planner templates (all downloadable, editable, and printable!) on Canva that can help you get organized! You can purchase these templates on my Etsy Shop for a LOW PRICE of $7.99 CAD! Plus you get a FREE simple, minimalist Wall Art Printable! Now, who doesn’t like free?? I know I do!
And many of us will take something BECAUSE it’s free!
CANVA TEMPLATES ON ETSY
All you need is a FREE Canva account and you can download your templates to use as much as you’d like!
I opened my Etsy shop to create a variety of templates for business owners, like myself. There are templates for invoices, order forms, to-do lists, inventory trackers, thank you cards – everything you need for your business! Having everything readily available for you saves you time to focus on more important aspects of your company (again, type A, super organized me!).
So here’s the thing about Canva – I think I’m obsessed with it now! I spent so much time creating templates with my new Pro account, that I’ve learned about so many different tools!
And you can use Canva for so many different things! Make templates, wall art, create social media posts, Pinterest pins, and social media templates for others to use – the list is ENDLESS!
GET YOUR canva free trial!
I’ve always used their free version or opted for the Canva Pro free trial, but I’ve learned the Pro account is really worth it! It only turns out to be $12.50 CAD per month if you sign up for yearly billing! Totally worth it! Especially if it helps your business *wink*
seriously, social media PLANNING!
Moving on! The social media content calendar templates I’ve created include: a weekly social media content planner, notepad, monthly planner, brainstorming notepad, keyword research notepad, weekly to-do list planner, monthly stats template, and hashtag tracker.
Plan your daily posts and keep track of your likes, comments, and shares for each one! So you know what’s working for you and what isn’t working so much.
All of these I use in different notes, apps, and planners on my phone – so I figure I might as well make something in one spot! I hope these templates help you as much as they help me.

I really need to dive in and work social media soon. I’ve been a but intimidated by Canva though I hear it’s easy to use. And I certainly need to be organized-thanks for the ideas.
